Token System
StableSwap uses STA as utility token and veSTA as governance token.
STA Token - Used for rewarding liquidity providers through emissions
veSTA NFT - Used for governance. Any STA holder can vote-escrow their tokens for up to 4 years and receive a veSTA NFT
Core Mechanics
The protocol enables token swaps and generates fees by attracting liquidity on the Stable blockchain.
How Emissions Work
- Lock STA - Participants lock STA to vote on the next epoch distribution of emissions, becoming veSTA Voters
- Vote for Pools - veSTA Voters vote on which pools receive emissions in the next epoch
- Earn Rewards - Voters are rewarded with 100% of protocol trading fees and any additional voter incentives
Every epoch, liquidity providers receive STA token emissions proportionally to the votes pools accumulate. Only staked liquidity (in protocol gauges) receives emissions.
Protocol Participants
Protocols - Incentivize veSTA voters or accumulate veSTA to vote directly and build deep liquidity at low cost
veSTA Voters - Lock STA to vote on emission distribution, earn 100% of trading fees, receive voter incentives (bribes), and get rebase rewards
Liquidity Providers - Provide liquidity to earn STA emissions, receive trading fee share, and enable efficient token swaps
Traders - Swap tokens with access to deep liquidity, minimal slippage, and competitive fees
ve(3,3) Model
StableSwap implements the ve(3,3) model which creates a sustainable ecosystem by:
Aligning Incentives - All participants benefit from protocol growth
Capital Efficiency - Optimizes liquidity deployment through voting
Sustainable Emissions - Long-term token holders control emission distribution
The ve(3,3) model combines vote-escrowed tokenomics with (3,3) game theory to create a sustainable DeFi protocol where all participants are incentivized to contribute to its growth.
